You know you're in College when...sday
You have taking multiple study breaks throughout the semester because your roommate came home with new clothes and you want her to model all her new purchases. Especially when it is a formal dress.

Remove, Cover, and Deal with "bruises" (Part 2-Cover)
A friend of my recently went a bit cray-cray with her bf and later found herself with a couple scandalous looking hickeys. This is not a post to condone or judge this practice. Some enjoy the administering or the receiving and others do not. In my travels I have found both kinds of people and I do not feel the need to voice my particular opinion. I hope only to stay neutral.
In this installment of my "bruises" post series, we will be discussing covering up these lovely marks. Part One Remove. Though some see them as no big deal or as proof they had a good time, others are less likely to be thrilled that you look like you were attacked by some Vampire Bears.
1. Put foundation on it. This is probably the most obvious of suggestions. One problem that arrises though, is that spots of foundation on your neck stand out and make your skin look splotchy. The trick is to put a light layer of foundation over your whole neck, the dab extra foundation on the purple/red spots til you can't see them anymore.
Sometimes this is not enough or you may not have access to foundation at the time. So there are a few other things to try. And lucky for those hickey receivers, current fashion trends are working in your favor.
2. SCARVES are so hot right now. And they go all over your neck, a strategically placed scarf can save face if you have to go straight from the house you passed out at to lunch with your mother/professor/straight edge friend. The great thing about this is that even if its warm where you live, you can still rock this look.

3. Fashion your hair to cover them up. Can be tricky if you have short hair or if you were gunna rock an up-do to hide how messy your locks got. But when in a hurry or in a tight jam it may be easier to run fingers through your hair or just do a half up do and make a conscious effort to keep your hair in front of your shoulders.
4. Shirts or other tops to cover it up. Perhaps a collared shirt, a t-shirt, or a halter that can be strategically placed.
5. Turtlenecks- a last resort. Perhaps a cowl-neck will be less 1980's.
What do you do to cover those pesky hickeys? Do you show them off as trophies? Every been called out on having one?

Minimal Packing for a Stress free Spring Break
For those of you who are going somewhere warm for they week off, I have a few tips to keep your suitcase light and your trip carefree. The fewer things your need to keep track of the better, and extra room in a suitcase means room to bring home souvenirs and cute local boys.
Remember you will only be gone for 5-7 days. Not three months. So you need 7-8 outfits TOPS.
This is just a template, switch items to match your style and Spring Break needs.
1. Start with basics.
The Formula: days you will be there + 1 = # of undies to bring. May want to make a few of them your sexy undies, to give a an extra reminder that your hot stuff. Then one regular bra and a few socks if necessary. Hopefully you won't even need to put on a shirt over your bathing suit for the week, let alone put on real shoes.
2. One very versatile skirt that can be worn at your low waist, natural waist, and as a strapless dress is ideal, but otherwise just a versatile skirt. Then a basic cotton dress that you need a cami/tank top under. That is the extent of the bottom wear I will be bringing, but for the less hard core, bring a 2nd skirt and maybe some jean shorts.
3. A couple tank tops will do ya good to go with the skirt and under the dress, then a couple dressy/sexy tops for evening get togethers to pair with shorts or your skirt. You don't wanna look like a beach bum when you arrive at the party those nice boys down the street invited you too.
4. A bathing suit, cover up, and sandals. All your outfits should go with the sandals that will also double as your beach shoes. Then a pair of cuter flip flops or some strappy heels for evening wear.
5. Belts, jewlery, scarves, or other accesories to make each outfit unique.
I would have added pictures but I'm on a forgein computer and windows are not so user friendly.
Hope everyone has a safe and fun spring break!

Five Things You Need to Bring to College You May Not Think Of
1. Clothes hangers- To hang stuff up in your closet, its very difficult to do with them.
2. Hot Glue Gun- god’s gift to those with a tight budget or minimal crafty skills.
3. Air Borne- Buy a thing of it and take it when you start to feel a bit sick each day until your better. This will cut down drastically on the time you are sick.
4. Rain boots/jacket/umbrella- Walking to class forces you to deal with the elements for much longer time then you may be used to. Showing up to class soaked or with wet shoes is not fun.
5. Insurance Card- You will probably get sick, and may need to go to the university clinic or the doctor/hospital. This is something you don’t want to have to call your parents about at who knows what time of day. A girl who lived across the hall from me got 3rd degree burns on her hand at like 1 in the morning when she put a PB&J uncrustable in the microwave.
What did you realize you needed once you moved out that you didn't have?

Thanksgiving Packing Tips
So most of us are going home for thanksgiving and a few of my friends have the whole week off, but I only have Wednesday –Friday free, though I'm leaving on Tuesday after class. Well anyway I am a minimalist, but when it comes to clothes, I tend to pack too much because of my need for variety. But inspired by Minimal Student’s holiday post, I am going to try to pack very little because
It makes transport easy.
I don’t loose things while I’m at home.
I feel awesome for not packing much and using versatile items to give my life variety.
So I have made a list of what I am bringing for 6 days of feasting joy.
1. Toiletries
2. Makeup
3. TIghts
4. Three Dresses
5. one shirt
6. One skirt
7. Two tank Tops
8. Underwear
9. Big Jacket and light jacket
10. Black Boots and Black Flats
Thats not a very small list is it?
What are you packing to go home? More? Less?

Make Your Clothes Last Longer
Recently my amazing mother bought me a few pairs of super cute tights and some knee high boots. But I scratched a hole in my new favorite pair of tights when getting out of a desk yesterday. AAAHHH!!! Luckily I know a trick to keep that hole from becoming an ugly run. And some other ideas about how to make your clothes last longer.
Nail polish for runs in tights- Use clear nail polish all around the hole and on the sides of the hole. Usually easiest to do while wearing them. This seals the nylon in place and the hole shouldn't get any bigger. But don't let the polish dry onto your leg if you apply while wearing them.
Hot glue for broken stuff- Hot glue is your best friend. Fix that strap on your gladiators, put the bow back on the toe of your flats, or a million other things.
Sew buttons back on yourself- When a button falls off that cheap Forever 21 jacket you love, don't dispair. Sewing buttons is SUPER easy. ThreadBangers.com has become my recent best friend, and in this video they show ya how to do it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hrSs_DiJ-ZA
Cut the bottom of your pant let when they get gross- If you are short like me, you know that jeans are always too long. So when the bottom of my pants are all torn up from me walking on them all the time. I just cut all the extra frayed thread off and make it look all clean again and now I don't need to throw them away. I could probably hem bottom, but I dont have a sewing machine or the desire to.
Don’t put bras in the dryer- its stretches the elastic and makes them get all flimsy and saggy sooner. Just hang them up once you wash them. But maybe not somewhere where the boys who come to your house can see :P
Don’t get your shoes wet- My first semester of college I didn't own rain boots. BIG MISTAKE. The first time it rained while I was on the way to class, I got my favorite black flats totally soaked. Within a few weeks of wearing them after they dried they were ruined and I had to throw them away. So invest in rain boots and keep your shoes dry.
Redesign too big or free t-shirts into something fabulous- I got 10 free t-shirts at a function on campus on Tuesday and now am determined to turn them all into something cute and wearable, maybe even party attire. So I purchased Generation T: 108 Ways to Transform a T-Shirt by Megan Nicolay which has great reviews and I have watched a few Threadbanger specials on her. And it was four bucks on amazon. But if you are cheap like you, you can just google redesigning t-shirts or t-shirts made into a halter. Information is everythere! So don’t let those XXL school spirit shirts they throw at you at football games go to waste!
What tricks do you have that helps you get your moneys worth or more out of your clothes?
